Why should I make Cadillac Lofts my new Apartment Home?
This is San Antonio's premier loft and one of San Antonio's
most unique rental properties. This 1929 building began its history as the headquarters
of the Goad Motor Company, a Cadillac distributorship for Texas. Automobiles
were stored in the multistory covered warehouse before the subsequent sale all over
Texas and in Mexico. The story goes that at the time of its founding every fourth
Cadillac manufactured was a limousine and dealers were required to buy production.
Purchasing surplus limousines at a discount, Tom Goad, is reported to have made
a fortune selling them into Mexico, where they were used for funerals. With changes
in the automobile business including import export rules and the movement of automobile
dealerships to the suburbs, this historic property ended its history as a place
for the sale of automobiles with the move of Cavender Cadillac to its present site
on Broadway. In 1999 the property was renovated into an office/apartment complex
by San Antonio legendary and visionary developer, Bernard Lifshutz. Mr. Lifshutz died in 2004, but
his son James remains actively involved in the development of downtown San Antonio
and with Cadillac Lofts. Cadillac Lofts features stained concrete floors, modern
appliances, along with avaunt
guarde architectural design.
Cadillac Lofts is a one of a kind downtown property. It is located in downtown
San Antonio, just north of the Riverwalk on Lexington Avenue directly across from
Madison Square Park.

Cadillac Lofts features a limited access gate and key card entry system to the building and parking, washer dryer connections in all units, on site management, and a landscaped terrace roof. The open air VIA downtown trolleys pass by Cadillac Lofts almost every ten minutes and you can ride them as much as you like around downtown San Antonio for a $10 per month pass. The property is cattycorner to the YMCA, which many residents use as their health club.

The converted dealership
contains 153 units ranging in size from 505 Square Feet to 1,650 Square Feet, with
almost no two units the same. Prices begin in the $550 range. Office hours are
Monday through Friday 9:30 to 6:00, 10 to 4 on Saturday and closed on Sunday. Lease
terms are 6, 9, and 12 months. Fees are $35 for application and refundable deposits
run from $150-$250. Your income needs to be three times the rent. There is no
reserved parking, though gated parking is available. Some of the parking is covered.
Garages are available for $35 per month. Pets are allowed with a $150 to $250 deposit.
There is a limit of two pets. The property does check credit; accept co signers,
short term leases, and first time renters. Trash and pest control fees are paid
by the property, but water and sewer fees are charged to the tenant.

Please tell the on site leasing agent that you found the apartment through Don Reser or Dons Apartments. You are entitled to choose your representative. We also need to be listed on your lease application when you decide on your new home. The standard lease application in use (after many informational questions) asks how you found the apartment. Specifically the form block is entitled “Why You Rented Here.” The application lists a number of alternatives. You only have to write Don Reser in the first two blanks on the application. You do not need or have to answer any other questions in that block of the application. This will not effect your application in anyway.
