Lakeside Villas is located
in Oakwell Farms, which is the planned development of the sprawling Tobin Estate
by Lloyd Denton. It is inside Loop 410, which greatly reduces traffic congestion.
The adjoining area to Oakwell Farms has both a driving range and horse stables.
There are two roads that run directly to Ft. Sam Houston; one goes to BAMC, and
the other to the base proper. Travel time is reportedly under ten minutes. Lakeside
Villas was well built by premier San Antonio developer Israel Fogiel in the 1980’s
with a unique flair. The property has its own man made lake. As part of the Oakwell
Farms development, Lakeside Villas has access to jogging trails, rustic relaxed
trees, and wooded areas. This is an excellent choice for Ft. Sam, BAMC people
and works for those going north towards Austin as well. It is also no more
than 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio via Austin Highway and Broadway.

Please tell the on site leasing agent that you found the apartment through Don Reser or Dons Apartments. You are entitled to choose your representative. We also need to be listed on your lease application when you decide on your new home. The standard lease application in use (after many informational questions) asks how you found the apartment. Specifically the form block is entitled “Why You Rented Here.” The application lists a number of alternatives. You only have to write Don Reser in the first two blanks on the application. You do not need or have to answer any other questions in that block of the application. This will not effect your application in anyway. Lakeside Villas is built on a historical Texas Home site which included a scenic lookout tower. At the time in Texas history it was built, it was built as a lookout for Indians rather than scenery. Presently the property is part of the Oakwell Farms community and has as a result nature jogging and walking trails.
There is reserved covered parking available and the property is gated with a limited access gate system. There are grand patios and courtyard. The property has a community clubhouse, which is available for rental. There is a 24 hour fitness center, which overlooks the property. There are clothes care centers. There is a complimentary Saturday brunch and the lake is stocked with fish.
The units have imaginative floor plans with full size washer dryer connections in most units. Some units have wood burning fireplaces. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which feature large walk in closets. The kitchens feature rich oak cabinetry. There are built in bookcases and vaulted ceilings in many units. There are separate vanity and marble countertops in the units.
Policies:
The office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30 to 5:30, Wednesday 9 to 6, Saturday 10 to 5, and Sunday 1 to 5. Lease terms available are 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 months.
The property requires a $40 to $60 application fee. Security deposits are $100 to $200 depending on the unit. $75 of the deposit is not refundable. You need to make three times the rent or have a co-signer that meets this qualification.
There is no reserved parking or garages. The property features covered parking at $40 per month.
Pets are allowed. There is no pet rent, but a $500 deposit per pet is required of which $300 is not refundable. No aggressive breeds are accepted.
The apartment does check your credit; accept co-signers, first time renters and short term leases. Pest control fees are paid by the property. There is a charge to the renter for trash pickup, water and sewer.
Directions:
From Loop 410, exit Harry Wurzbach and turn south. Turn left on Oakwell Farms Parkway and proceed to Laurens Lane. Turn left.

If Lakeside Villas is not the apartment for you, then please consider telling me more about what you want and need. My name is Don Reser and I have been involved with real estate since 1984. I consider myself the very best locator in San Antonio and I CAN HELP YOU, but I need you to HELP ME. Unless you are willing to allow me to help you by giving me the time to show you personally at least three apartments, it is really going to be hard. You are welcome to look around on your own, but generally it is inefficient and you will become tired and confused. (There are 700 commercial properties in San Antonio.) I will send you an email list of properties with directions to help you look on your own, and you are welcome to use my help this way. We have two databases to look at properties.
My experience is that it takes about 4 hours of viewing with an experienced locator at a minimum to find the right place. If you invest 8 hours with me, I will be able to show you at least two places you would want to rent at for your price. Okay so spend all the time you want on your own and then when you really want to get the job done, call me.
Because of the internet I know that many of you are moving from out of town and are very anxious about finding a place to live. I can assure you we can get it done in one day. We need to make an appointment for the day you are in town. If you have to know ahead of time, you will need to fly in and I will assist you in evaluating all your leasing options in one day.
